Welcome to the Polar Bear Alley giftshop! Right now it is pretty small and that’s fine – just my polar bear book and some limited edition prints of my paintings. All images were inspired by my best memories of ten plus seasons guiding in Churchill. I would like to thank all who bought my prints this past bear season in Churchill. Next year, the original artwork (plus a few more) will be featured in a bear season art show in Churchill and at a gallery at The Forks in Winnipeg. All prints are signed and numbered plus only a limited number of Polar Bears of Churchill books are left. Enjoy and buy! buy! buy!!! – Kels

Dancer – Limited Edition Print
My first and favourite painting of polar bears. Dancer is likely the most famous and recognizable polar bear in Churchill. He is a character that has been around for more than ten bear seasons now and is likely over 22 years old, an incredible age for a male polar bear. This stylized painting captures his ‘old school’ personality and hopefully a bit of his charisma. Available in 16×20 limited edition print (signed, #/300), $49.95 unframed.
Dancer – 5×7 Print, Matte Framed to Fit 8×10 frame. $12.95
MC2 – Mother and Cubs Limited Edition Print
Ten years ago, when I started driving at Tundra Buggy Tours, we had a radio code when a mother with two cubs was spotted – MC2… actually M.C.squared… Spotting a mother and cubs was rare and so you didnt really want to announce it over the radio. That season, we were lucky to have to families stay around through the whole season – hunting seals, nursing and fending of curious males. This painting captures the classic, natural pose of a mother polar bear, ever watchful, with her two cubs resting on her rear hip – one (usually the male) sleeping comfortably and the other (the female) with one eye open, alert like her mother.
Limited edition prints available, signed and numbered (#/300), $49.95.
MC – Mother and Cubs – 5×7 Print, Matte Framed to fit 8×10 Frame, $12.95.
Buggy Bear – Limited Edition
This painting depicts the view from a tundra buggy, face to face with a polar bear and maybe a few tire tracks in the background. The bear stands on his hind legs hoping to grab an arm, scarf or camera strap from the tourists onboard. Based on the bear – Number 1 – an aggressive young male with a characteristic #1 scar (complete with serif) on his rib cage. He was a killer.
Limited edition print, signed and numbered (#/300), $39.95.
