Bear With No Name

This big ol' polar bear appeared early in bear season 2005. The bear berry was still bright red and dwarf birch flashed orange and yellow on the landscape. His bright white coat was a contrast not only to the tundra but to most of the old bears that come through. They are ragged and battle-worn. Apart from a scar on his nose, this guy looked like he had just walked off the showroom floor.

The strange thing about this guy is that he seemed oblivious to the activity around him, curled up as both bears and tundra vehicles passed by. That is, of course, until he would suddenly jump up and trot off, looking back disdainfully. He only spent a few days around the tundra vehicle area but this behaviour never changed. Almost every bear in the area gets used to activity and adapts quickly. The only explanation we could think of for this one is that he was deaf! So there was really no point for a name.
