Hudson Bay Quest - 2005 Race - 2004 Race - Mushers - History - Sponsors - Contact

The Hudson Bay Quest is a 400km dog sled race between linking Churchill, Manitoba
with Arviat, Nunavut. It brings together mushers and sled dogs from Canada's Polar
Bear Capital of the World, Churchill, with some of the finest Inuit mushers in northern
Canada.

It is a traditional race built on the storied history of the fur trade, aboriginal Canadians
Prince of Wales Fort and the Hudson's Bay Company. Designed as a self-sufficient
dog sledding adventure, racers carry their own supplies and dog food for the
duration of the race. Only one emergency food drop is available near the border
 of Manitoba and Nunavut.

It is an arduous journey across the frozen tundra bordering Hudson Bay's unforgiving
coast. It is a test of both man and dog and their ability to work together to meet
the challenges in the land of the Polar Bear.

The Hudson Bay Quest is held each April and invites racers from across North
America to join in this celebration of arctic life and sled dog culture.
